Where do I even start? My dad has taught me so much. To me, he defines what a good man is: a good father, husband, and someone who carries himself with integrity.

Growing up, he drilled the basics into me: manners, respect, eye contact, a firm handshake, and how to conduct myself in any setting. That’s where much of my confidence comes from. He also taught me everything I know about sport, from bowling and catching to tackling and swinging a golf club, and helped shape a lifelong love for it.

More than anything, it’s the example he set. He balanced love and firmness with my sister and me. There was tough love at times, but it always came back to love, and we never doubted that. He grounded me in strong Christian values, especially around life’s temptations, always offering guidance to keep me on track.

He can be overly cautious, warning me about driving too fast or diving into a shore break, but it comes from protection, and over time, I’ve seen the wisdom in it.

As a husband, he leads well. He’s decisive but not controlling, doesn’t swear, keeps his temper, takes responsibility, and doesn’t shift blame. Even his mistakes taught me what to avoid.

We’re best friends, and I don’t take that for granted. He’s always been present, a protector, and someone I can turn to for anything. He’s reminded me there’s always a solution and that tough seasons pass.

He’s sacrificed so much for us. Ultimately, he’s shown me how to live, love, and lead. I hope to be that man one day.
